The Chinese zodiac is based upon a cycle of 12 years, each year has its own animal, symbol and characteristic traits. They are arranged into the following order:
Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit Dragon, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Cock, Dog and Boar.

A Person born in a particular year will have the animal to define his/her characteristic traits. It often governs the good or ill fortune in that persons life and guides his success and happiness socially, personally and politically.
